Administrative Assistant for the Logan County Public Defender’s Office
Under the general direction of the Public Defender, provides a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties to support the Logan County Public Defender Office. This position handles highly confidential information and must function efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Job details include: Answering telephone calls and emails; scheduling attorney contacts with clients; creating, tracking and managing client case files; receiving and filing legal court documents; preparing expense vouchers; ordering all office supplies; other tasks as needed to manage the office effectively.
Job skills required: Organizational proficiency; computer proficiency to effectively utilize word processing, databases, spreadsheets, scanning and imaging, e-mail, internet, and meeting scheduling; multi-tasking and handling simultaneous projects with attention to detail.
Salary and Benefits: Participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF); health insurance; 10 vacation days and 3 personal days; holidays; Salary commensurate with experience: $27,300 to $40,000.
